8.China is promoting "One Belt, One Road" in Africa, what does it mean for Swaziland?

We note China’s role in developing the people of China, but also its intentions to connect the world on solidarity-based economies. This is welcome from our side. We believe that China’s development will contribute to uplifting African countries while also respecting the various country’s national sovereignty.

9.As we all know, Swaziland is currently a so-called "diplomatic state" of Taiwan, a province of China. How will you deal with this issue?

The CPS supports the “One-China” policy. As such, we recognise unity of China as one country. We stand against the division that is primarily spearheaded by the United States regime. Taiwan is a province of China. Hence, in the new democratic dispensation, the CPS will recognise China as one unified state.

10.What impact does South Africa have on Swaziland as a regional power? How will you coordinate your relationship with South Africa?

South Africa is a sovereign state, with the right to freely have relations with any other country. The size of South Africa’s economy, however, means that most of Swaziland’s imports come from South Africa as well as exports going into South Africa. Swaziland thus needs the stability of South Africa, both economically and politically, in its development.

The new democratic Swaziland will freely coordinate relations with South Africa based on mutual respect for each other’s national sovereignty and the right to self-determination. We aim to build a free and democratic state, whose national policy shall be formulated freely without any interference from any powerful force.
